The subject matter of all economics, irrespective of whether it is
mainstream or Islamic, is the allocation and distribution of scarce
resources which have unlimited uses. However, precisely because of
the scarcity of resources and their alternative uses, it is not every
allocation and distribution which is acceptable to society. Hence,
economics has also been directly or indirectly involved in a
discussion of human well-being, to be realized through an
improvement in the allocation and distribution of resources in
conformity with the social vision
